How to sign a PDF

Your signature never leaves the page
A signature is one of the few things that can be used against you if it is copied. Online signing services keep an image of it on their servers. Here you make it in your browser — drawn, typed or from a photo — it is placed on the page, and it is not stored anywhere, not even on this device, once you close the tab.
What kind of signature this is
The tool stamps your signature onto the page as an image, whether you drew it, typed it or photographed it — the same as signing a printout and scanning it. That is enough for most everyday paperwork, such as delivery notes, rental documents or school authorisations. It is not a digital signature backed by a certificate, so it does not prove who signed or that the document was not changed afterwards.
Limits
When a certificate-based signature is required, as in many official procedures, use your digital certificate with the signing software your administration provides. To fill in the rest of the document before signing, use Fill PDF Form.
